Care-Giving in the Home/ a primer
Art of Aging/of Dying series
Admission $5
Wednesday, June 27 | 3:00-5:00 pm
Hoffman Center for the Arts | 594 Laneda Avenue | Manzanita

This Art of Dying session will provide basic information, tips, and practical applications in support of caring for the dying in a home environment. The information will be helpful for other kinds of caregiving, such as following surgeries.

Paula Sansum will guide the session. Her experience includes a thirty-year work career in Occupational Therapy, including acute care, outpatient rehabilitation, home health, and hospice services.

Paula has provided caregiver instruction for volunteers, individuals, & families who are providing care in the home for years. She will share from her personal experiences of being a caregiver as well as knowledge, skills and techniques gleaned from her profession. This will be an interactive session that may include supportive problem solving and hands on instruction for positioning, transfers, and ambulation.

This will be helpful for individuals, families, and community members who find themselves in the role of caregiver as well as for individuals who may be receiving care in the home.

Let’s share and discover the ins and outs of basic care giving in the home environment.

*(primer. = n. 1.elementary and easy to understand information and instructions)

The event will be held at Hoffman Center for the Arts; 594 Laneda Avenue, Manzanita, OR from 3-5 pm on Wednesday, June 27, 2018.  There is a $5 fee to attend.
