Hoffman Center Art of Aging Series will host a presentation and resource sharing session on July 11, from 3PM to 5PM on the topic of The Everyday Aspects of Aging, presented by Janet Holboke, LCSW.

This is a training designed for community members and professionals by Portland State University’s Institute on Aging .

The program features interviews with a diverse group of older adults who vary in age, gender, life experiences, sexual orientation, income and living situations.

The Information presented includes:

  • The vital role of older adults in their families and communities
  • Age related changes and how older adults adapt to those changes
  • Ways older adults optimize mental health in the face of physical and social challenges

This information is being presented to audiences across Oregon.    It can help aging adults view physical changes in the context of what is normal for all of us.

Janet Holboke is an Older Adult Behavioral Health Specialist with Greater Oregon Behavioral Health, Inc. based in The Dalles, Oregon.  Janet has over 25 years of experience working with older adults and is one of 24 specialists around the state working as part of the Older Adult Behavioral Health Initiative.  This initiative sponsors community and professional education events promoting behavioral health awareness and improved services.

The workshop will be held at the Hoffman Center for the Arts. Fee is $5.
