The Hoffman Center Clay Program is pleased to offer scholarships to artists and emerging artists who require financial assistance to participate in classes or workshops. Scholarship funding is provided by donations made to the Kathleen Ryan Memorial Fund established in 2016.
Scholarship Scope
Students may request funds to supplement up to one-half of the registration fee for a Hoffman Center clay class or workshop. Scholarships cover registration only. Other costs, such as materials, travel, accommodations, and meals that are not covered.
Eligibility
Adults over 18 years of age who reside within a 40-mile radius of the Holffman may apply. Criteria for selection are financial need and proposed benefit to the artist and the art community. Awards are limited to one per person, per calendar year. Funds are made payable directly to the Hoffman Center.
Application and Award Process
Scholarship applications are considered and awarded by the Clay Program Scholarship Committee.
Applicants must submit a completed scholarship application form at least 14 days prior to the start of the class or workshop.
The Clay Program Scholarship Committee will confirm receipt of the application within two days of receipt and notify the applicant of their decision within five days of receipt of the application.
Deadline and Notification
Applications will be accepted throughout the year and continue until scholarship funds set aside for the year are depleted.
Registration: Scholarship recipients may enroll in any HCA Clay Program class/workshop. Classes and workshops are posted in both the HCA Clay Studio and online.
Once notified their scholarship application has been approved and workshop selection is confirmed, the scholarship recipient may enroll in the class and pay the remaining balance to secure their seat.
