We want to make you a better photographer!

This comprehensive course is designed for those who want to improve their basic photography skills. The workshop is designed for those who have a digital camera that allows for adjustments to key settings (e.g., aperture, shutter speed, and ISO). Ideal camera types include Digital Single-lens Reflex (DSLR), mirrorless, and compact “point and shoot” cameras.

The workshop will be held over four days and two weekends,
and explore the following topics:

• Basic camera functionality and operation
• Developing the eye of a photographer
• Harnessing the power of light and using the   exposure “triad”
• Equipment and proper usage, including lenses, filters, and tripods
• Basic picture composition
• Creative expression with a camera
• Photographing art, flowers, and landscapes
• Workflow and an introduction to image editing

There will be three photo assignments that we will review in class two, three,
and four where we will provide valuable feedback to help students improve their technique.

Further courses are planned that will build on this introduction, including:
• Landscapes/Seascape Photography
• Night Photography
• Macro Photography
• Black and White Photography
