About Kathleen Kanas:
Kathleen, a ceramic artist based in Manzanita, Oregon, brings ten years of experience hand-building ceramic forms utilizing a variety of surface treatments and glazing techniques. Her explorative nature and love of creation continually lead to new self-taught discoveries with this fascinating material. Kathleen’s focus and inspiration come from nature’s colors, structural forms, textures, contrasts, and movements. Her work can be identified by oxides and stains highlighting textured surfaces, incised lines contrasting glaze and clay, and forms reflecting stability and strength. As an educator, Kathleen wants her students to understand basic glazing techniques and explore the many types of materials available by experiencing a supportive hands-on approach in creating pottery.
