Composition, Color, and Presence in Creating Visual Art

In conjunction with Robert Procter’s December show in the Hoffman Gallery, the artist will be offering a unique one-day workshop in the Hoffman classroom. The workshop will focus on topics relevant to the organization of the 2-D space. We will explore different approaches to organizing space to help strengthen your compositions. An overview of key aspects of color will be explored. In addition, we will learn how to create simple brush-based calligraphic figures, with an emphasis on bringing the energy of the body to the tip of the brush. This practice can be applied to any of your chosen media. If you wish, bring one or two pieces you are currently working on if you’d like some ideas.

This will be a hands-on interactive workshop; all levels of experience are welcome. All materials will be provided.
