Mosaics Old and New

Enjoy following Nehalem artist Aja Ngo through her study of mosaic art in sunny Ravenna, Italy, as she offers a slide talk and tea on her recent study of mosaics in Italy. Her presentation will illustrate the step-by-step process that makes mosaic art a centuries-durable form. She will take you to the hallways of the best mosaic school in the world and give you a private tour of a famous, Italian, one-of-the-kind glass factory.

Currently, Ms. Ngo’s art is included in the Art in Embassies program curated by the US State Department. In the last five years, she has created four large-scale mosaic murals in different communities throughout Oregon. Her art is included in private and public collections.

Aja Ngo is a recipient of an Opportunity Grant from the Oregon Arts Commission and a Ford Family Foundation grant to support her studies in 2021. She has been living in Nehalem part-time since 2012.

Aja will be teaching a mosaics class in February click here for more info
