In January, we set off on our way to pursue an active art practice, with monthly Zoom workshops, homework play, and sharing with fellow journaling participants on our exclusive Hoff-Online board.

Now we carry on with our next four months of instructions and inspiration, May through August. If you’ve ever thought you’d like to open your creative side, consider joining our Odyssey as we explore uncharted territory in the company of an encouraging community.

We’ll be building on skills learned in the first series. New participants will catch-up through a special lesson and access to information and demonstrations residing in this series’s online segment.  Focus is on keeping a playful, childlike spirit, allowing your art to unfold, and embracing the unexpected. You will be encouraged to treat your art spirit with compassion, not to judge yourself by comparing to others’ works, but to be inspired and learn from each other.

“Creativity is contagious, pass it on.” — Albert Einstein

The impact of regular art practice on your neural pathways increases connectivity between the two sides of your brain. So not only is creating art fun, it is good for your brain health! If you’d like to set off on this epic journaling Odyssey with us, join fearless leader Melissa Grace Young the second Thursday of every month at 10:00am.

Grow Your Art Practice is a year-long journey of sketchbook journaling offered in four-month segments for $140. Workshops include 2-1/2 hours of instruction plus a half-hour to share pages, answer questions, and present homework ideas between months.

Sessions are recorded and made available to you for a limited time if you miss the live class. All students have access to video demonstrations, examples, material lists, and tips and tricks residing in the entire course’s online segment. The online classroom is updated monthly with new information and includes a forum on which participants can upload photos of their pages, ask questions, give and receive feedback.

Melissa Young’s career has been spent in family medicine. But she says:

“I’ve always used creative outlets to help keep me grounded.”

She has dabbled in ceramics, jewelry making, spinning & weaving, quilting, and acrylic and watercolor painting. Over the past few years, she enjoys sketchbook journaling for both every day and traveling. She finds it a useful tool for spring-boarding other larger artworks from ideas developed on her journals’ pages.

So, DO IT! Sign up today as it is never too late to commit yourself to practice your art in 2021 and watch your astounding journal unfold.
