Introduction to Stained Glass
Beginners Workshop

Chuck Winkelman will be teaching another stained-glass workshop in May sponsored by The Hoffman Center. This is a beginning class and plans are in the works for an advanced class later.

Classes are conducted in Winkelman’s garage workshop in Manzanita, where students can take advantage of his extensive tools and equipment. The class size is limited to eight students. The class begins with an introduction to tools, the selection of designs and layout, cutting boards, and glass cutting. Chuck provides a number of window templates from which the beginner can choose.

All materials are provided for a small window (12”x12”) or thereabouts.

Students are asked to provide the following:
A 1 ½” or 2” dry paintbrush to sweep clean work surfaces
Pencil and ruler
Safety glasses (you can omit safety glasses if you wear regular glasses).

Everything else for the design and construction of a window will be provided. There is a refrigerator in the shop for those who want to bring beverages or lunch. Please wear long pants and no open-toe shoes or sandals.
