Works of Netarts artist John R. Stahl (1937-2017)

The lively, varied works of Netarts artist John R. Stahl (1937-2017) will be presented in conjunction with his one-person exhibition in the Hoffman Gallery. Stahl drawings, paintings, collages, prints, river rock carvings, and bird decoys will be among the presented works of art. From his development as a Museum Art School student in the late 1960’s through decades of time spent in his studio, lecture attendees will learn about the influence of our beautiful coastal scenery, European modernism, Native American art, and his love for hunting and fishing on his work. The afternoon will include a slide talk, exhibit tour, and a question-and-answer period. The monograph: John R. Stahl A Life in Art, by Willamette University Professor Emeritus, Roger Hull, will be available for purchase.
