Watercolor in the Garden-Painting Plein Air Led by Oregon Artist Carolyn Gates

Hoffman Center in Manzanita will offer this two-day workshop

CLASS CANCELLED

Leave the walls of your home behind and step into the Wonder Garden, a botanic playground, to learn about composition and interpreting what you see. Experience painting with the ephemeral qualities of sunlight. Some watercolor experience is preferred.

Carolyn has been working in watercolor for several years, and the qualities that characterize her work are intense color and compositions that explore the relationships of shapes and patterns. Thus, her work investigates beauty and color. In doing so, she hopes to discover the interplay between the ordinary and extraordinary.

Carolyn studied studio art at Mira Costa College in Oceanside, California, and watercolor painting at Lane Community College in Eugene, Oregon. She has studied watercolor with Carol Carter, Satoko Motouji, and Judy Morris. She is currently a member of the Watercolor Society of Oregon.
