A Day Exploring Color
With a day to explore color, we will deepen our knowledge and understanding of the following, all in the service of painting:
- Understanding color as a unified system
- Qualities of pigments that affect color
- Exploring what happens when colors are mixed together
- Approaches to efficiently mixing colors seen in the world
- The relationship between color and emotion.
- Putting together a personal palette of colors
- And as many other concepts that we can fit into the day!
Participants will be provided with paints, palette knife, and palette paper in order to personally experience the topics being discussed.
Bring a notepad, apron or smock, and phone or camera to take photos with.
Robert Gamblin is a founder of Gamblin Artists Colors, an international brand of oil painting and printmaking materials located in Portland, Oregon.
