Rock Painting, a three-hour workshop taught by Oregon City artist Angela Thomas

Bring your family, friends or neighbors for this three-hour evening workshop. This workshop is open to adults and children 8 years and older. Kids aged 8 to 13 must be accompanied by an adult. (Accompanying adults must register as well.)

Participants will explore different types of rock painting from Mandalas to pointillism to more realistic images. Paint pens and acrylic paint techniques will be available. Simple step-by-step methods that easily transform a rock to a piece of art will be demonstrated.

Artist and teacher Angela Thomas earned a master’s degree in Art Therapy from Marylhurst University and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Western Oregon University. She has worked with children, adolescents and adults in metal health agencies as well as academic settings since 1999.

Thomas’s commitment, as an artist and teacher, is to inspire students to discover their inner artist and to facilitate self-expression. She believes in giving people the artistic tools and language they need to understand and explore art at their own pace and in their own way. Thomas says:

“There is no right or wrong way to create art in my class.”
