“Summer Wordplay”

Join us for one or all of the sessions

September 17th is our last session of Summer WordPlay and an opportunity to share your work at our Open Mic.  Starting at 10:30, Kathie Hightower will lead a short instruction period on how to effectively read your work in front of an audience, and then around 11:30, we’ll have an actual Open Mic.

Participants are invited to share five minutes (about 900 words, or 3 pages double-spaced), of original work–ideally work that got its start in one of our summer WordPlay sessions.

Members of the public are invited to listen, too.  Some fantastic pieces have been launched from Writing in the Garden, Writing from Images, Timed Free-Writes, Short Prompts, and from Mining the Classifieds.  Come listen!  You’ll be amazed what these writers have dreamed up!
