September Letter from the ED

Dear Friends of Hoffman,

My name is India Downes-Le Guin, and I’m delighted to write to you as the new Executive Director. When the opportunity arose to serve in this role, it was an obvious choice. I have always loved Manzanita and the north Oregon coast. I first got involved with Hoffman when I moved from Portland in 2020, and, as a dedicated dabbler, I was thrilled to find a place where I could cast a wide net and pursue any artistic curiosity. The warmth and dedication of the volunteers and instructors drew me in, and I knew right away this was a special place. It is with great enthusiasm, and gratitude for our community of residents and visitors, that I join the team.

But enough about me. This is an exciting time for Hoffman and the culmination of years of hard work. Tremendous stewardship from the Board and program leads, as well as support from volunteers and community, has put our organization in a strong position. I am grateful for the guidance of such incredible individuals as we continue to develop new opportunities and carry forward the mission of Hoffman. Thank you all for laying such a solid foundation—I am eager to use this momentum to continue building the sustainability of the organization and serving our community.

In the next couple of months, I hope to finalize office hours, but in the meantime, feel free to drop by Hoffman if you are local or send me an email to introduce yourself. I look forward to meeting you all!

With gratitude,

India Downes-Le Guin
Executive Director
