Youth Programs

Hoffman Center for the Arts is thrilled to offer visual arts and writing workshops throughout the year for young artists. Please check our schedule under “Classes” and “Events” for upcoming programming. We also devote gallery space to young artists each month, and you can contact us here to display your art.  HCA will also partner with NCRD to teach summer art camp in August 2025.

Background

In 2023, the Board at Hoffman Center for the Arts (HCA) developed and adopted a Strategic Plan for 2024-2026. As part of a strategy to engage our broader community, we adopted the following 2024 action step: “Budget for and begin piloting youth programs in collaboration with peer organizations.” We wanted to bring similar fun, passionate participatory art experiences to young people that we are known for offering adults. In 2024, working with our school and community partners, volunteers and donors, HCA piloted a variety of artist-led visual arts and writing workshops for middle and high school students, free of charge.

The goal of youth programming is to offer artist-led workshops and learning opportunities, in partnership with schools and youth serving organizations, to underserved North Oregon Coast youth at little to no cost, consistent with our values of opportunity and inclusion, offering a supportive and creative environment for self expression.
