Mud Buddies

 

I usually work as a painter or as an artist who makes prints and sometimes works with glass.

However, during the isolation of the pandemic, I found it comforting to get my hands muddy and make myself these little companions.

I sent some of them off to family and friends; might they stand-in for me during our separation?

As the shutdown dragged on, it became a habit to keep creating them.

Now, my intention in selling them is to help support the Hoffman Center.

Without the clay studio’s kiln services and encouragement, I would not have had the comfort of this distraction.

My aim is to share their humor so that they incite a similar sense in others.
