A Low-Stress Introduction to Watercolor

This class is for everyone who wants to try watercolor painting but doesn’t know where to start. Join artist Lindsey Aarts for a low-pressure introductory workshop where students will learn the very basics of preparing, mixing, and applying paint. Rather than focusing on a finished piece of art, we will address materials, technique, color, and process through various exercises, experimentation, and play.
No need to purchase any paint, paper, or brushes–all supplies are provided and can be taken home after the workshop for your future watercolor endeavors.
About Lindsay Aarts
Born and raised on the Gulf Coast of Florida, Lindsey Aarts graduated from Florida State University with a degree in Art History and Museum Studies. She relocated to Oregon in 2009 but did not start focusing on her art practice until she moved to the coast in 2017. Lindsey now considers herself a working artist and finds joy in being able to share her hard-earned knowledge and experience with other aspiring artists. She is supported in all her art adventures by her husband, three children, two cats, and a dog.
In her art practice, Lindsey uses watercolor illustration and mixed media collage to create colorful imagery rooted in stories, history, and the natural landscape. She enjoys using this visual language to create a sense of place for the viewer and always looks forward to exploring new and interesting places.
