Oregon native Pam Patrie has fifty years of rich experience in the art of weaving. Her lecture will discuss the history of the art form internationally and its development in the United States. We will learn about Pam’s fascinating personal journey, which started with art school in the late 1960’s, her travel to France in 1974, leading to the lifelong practice of production tapestry in Portland, Oregon. Pam will highlight commissions and exhibited works as well as numerous artists and weavers who visited her studio over the forty years she worked in Portland. Pam has led workshops and hosted visiting tapestry artists at her cabin on the coast near Manzanita for thirty years. Her work continues in the cabin retreat.
