Intermediate Wheel Throwing
Taking it to the Next Level — 6-part series workshop

 

A course for potters who have completed a basic wheel course or equivalent. Participants must be able to center and throw vessels like bowls and mugs on their own.

This intermediate wheel class will build upon basic pottery skills. Demonstrations and discussions will include more advanced forms like centering larger amounts of clay, lidded vessels, making sets, and altering forms. Surface design processes using slips and stains will be covered. Instruction will include demos and practice time with individual student coaching during class.

Instruction, by local potter Tara Spires-Bell, will include demos and practice time with individual student coaching during class.

$350 includes use of the studio tools and firings along with practice session time and
a $25 materials fee for clay and glazes.
