Learning to See: Life Drawing
Exercises for Beginners with MJ Anderson
Local artist MJ Anderson will share her knowledge and provide guidance on how to train your eye and hand in seeing composition and form. In the vein of classical training, we will practice several different approaches to drawing from a nude model.
Bring large format newsprint or large sketchbooks, charcoal, pencils, and other materials you feel comfortable working with. Easels and drawing boards provided.
Instructor biography:
MJ Anderson has taught design, life drawing, and clay sculpture at Marylhurst University and Sitka Center for Art and Ecology. MJ maintains a sculpture studio in Nehalem, Oregon and regularly travels to the marble quarries of Cararra, Italy for her work.
